Rhonda Holliday, PhD

Rhonda Conerly Holliday, PhD is an Associate Professor the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. Her main research interests are minority health issues, health disparities, health equity and community based participatory research. She has a particular focus on HIV and substance use prevention among adolescent and adult populations who have experienced incarceration. She has conducted research in the United States, South Africa, and Swaziland. Dr Holliday served as the Principal Investigator for the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Prevention Research Center’s core research project (2014-2019): A Multi-Method Approach to STI and HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Urban Minority Youth. She is the current PI of the newly funded MSM PRC core research project (2019-2024): Take Charge: Implementing a Campus and Community HIV Testing Strategy to Reduce the Burden of HIV/AIDS in Vulnerable Populations. In addition to research supported by CDC, she has received support for her research from National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Dr. Holliday also serves as the Co-Director of the Community Liaison Core for the Deep South Research Center on Minority Aging Research, housed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
