Gabriel Eber, JD, MPH, CCHP

Gabriel B. Eber, JD, MPH, CCHP is Senior Associate in the Department of Epidemiology and affiliate faculty with the Center for Public Health and Human Rights at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, where he collaborates on issues of health and incarceration and has offered his Prisons, Public Health, and Human Rights class for several years. He is a member of the editorial boards of the National Commission on Correctional Health Care’s Journal of Correctional Health Care and the International Journal of Prisoner Health. He is formerly Senior Staff Counsel at the National Prison Project of the American Civil Liberties Union, where he worked for more than eleven years focusing on studying, investigating, advocating for access to quality medical and mental health care in prisons and jails. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he taught a course on prison law and policy. He studied epidemiology and biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health and served on a research team at Harvard Medical School investigating the epidemiology of addictive disorders.
