Mansi Shah, BA

After tutoring incarcerated women during my first year at Rutgers University, I became deeply invested in the health of justice-involved populations. My pronouns are she/her/hers.
Mansi Shah, B.A. is a recent graduate of Rutgers University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a Certificate in Women’s Leadership. Currently, she is an AmeriCorps member and Suboxone Care Coordinator at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Mansi is the founder of the Correctional Health Summer Program at Rutgers, the first justice-health program for undergraduate students in the nation. She completed a capstone project on the outcomes of substance use treatment policies in New Jersey correctional facilities. She has also interned at Rikers Island with NYC Health + Hospitals to improve transitional care services for young adults. Additionally, she is a contributor to “JustHealth,” a monthly newsletter on mass incarceration and health, with a broader goal of making pathways to this field more accessible for her peers. She intends to begin medical school next fall and hopes to apply a social and racial justice lens to her work.
